Coragem para a Jornada

"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness"(Isa 41:10).

Personal courage is a must for the Christian pilgrim on his way home. "Courage" is that quality of mind and spirit that gives one the strength to refuse to accept defeat. It is that which allows one to meet danger and difficulties with firmness. It is casting aside fear, and meeting stress and strain with determination to meet a goal. Certainly, this type of strength and character is available to the believer, but where does it come from? In the scripture before us, we can see several things.

1. THE VOICE HE SPEAKS

How many times have we been faced with what seemed to be an impossible situation? We looked at it from every angle and still could see no way out. With our reasoning powers exhausted, we wished that someone would Just appear and tell us exactly what to do. Well, that is what God is saying here. Listen as He says, "Fear thou not; for I am with thee." When we know He is with us, we have courage for the Journey.

2. THE VISION HE GIVES

With the eye of faith, we can see all the way to the end of the Journey. God has always spoken to the children of faith and has pointed them In the right direction by shining heavenly light in their pathways. He is the Almighty, and He knows, sees, hears, and understands all things. He said, "I will never leave thee" (Heb. 13:5). If your path is not clear right now, Just stand still and look with the eye of faith. Soon the light will shine, and He will point the way.

3. THE VICTORY HE ASSURES

"I will uphold thee with the right hand of My righteousness." God*s right hand speaks of His strength. Our victory 4s not dependent upon our fleshly strength. The Christian*s strength is a supernatural strength. ‘Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Cor. 15:57). He causes us always to triumph. He speaks to us. He guides us. His strong arm protects us. Our courage comes from Him.
