I. Proofs for the Existence of God.

A. Argument from Scripture.

The Bible does not try to prove the existence of God, it naturally assumes that you believe that there is a God, and that the God you believe in is the true God of Heaven

The Term God is in the Scriptures over 500 times.

The Term Lord (dealing with God) is in the Scriptures over 300.

1. The Bible begins with God.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2. God says you are a fool if you do not believe in Him.

Psalms 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

3. You must first know Him with your heart before you can know Him with your head.

1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

4. We are given the Spirit of God to know God.

1 Corinthians 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

5. Jesus assumed that God exists.

John 7:17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

6. Creation began with God.

John 1:1-2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.

7. Six reasons a person does not accept the Biblical Proof of God.

a. Man's mind is darkened.

1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

b. Man's pride.

Jeremiah 49:16 Thy terribleness hath deceived thee, and the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD.

Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

c. Worldly education.

Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

d. Science over Scripture.

1 Timothy 6:20-21 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

e. Ignorance of God's Word.

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

f. Influence of devils.

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

B. Argument from Personal Experience.

1. This is the greatest proof outside of scripture, It is the daily fellowship that a born again believer has.

Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

2. People say, " I don't want to hear the Bible, tell me something you Know! This is the opportunity to tell how God has saved you and is working in your life.

2 Timothy 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

C. Argument from Nature.

1. Look into the Heavens and you can see God.

Psalms 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork.

2. Creation shows God is there.

Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

D. The Ontological Argument. (Argument from Conscience).

All men have in them, no matter how primitive, a desire to worship a supreme being, you have to be educated out of the belief that their is a God.

1. Written in our Hearts.

Romans 2:15 Which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

2. Our conscience bears witness of God.

1 Timothy 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

3. Man fears that he might miss God.

Acts 17:23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

E. The Cosmological Argument. (The Argument from Cause.)

1. The Cause and Effect Proof.

a. The Cause - God.

b. The Effect - The Universe.

2. The earth is here, so there must be a God.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

3. Three things about cause:

a. A cause is something: has real existence.

b. A cause has power: it does something.

c. A cause must have enough power to produce the effect.

4. There are only four possibilities for the existence of earth, and God is the only scientific one.

a. Came from nothing, Accidentally or Naturally.

This theory breaks the 1st Law of Thermodynamics: Something cannot be created out of nothing.

b. Always been here.

This theory breaks the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics: There is entropy in a closed system. Anything left alone will run down.

c. It really is not here at all, existentialism.

This theory can be disproved by scientific analysis.

d. Came from nothing, Supernaturally.

This does not break any law of science, it is thus the only scientific theory.

F. The Teleological Argument. (The Argument from Purpose and Order.)

The earth is here so there must be a purpose and was designed. A watch does not simply exist, nut has a purpose, and was thus created.

Psalms 50:12 If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.

G. The Anthropological Argument. (The Argument from the Nature or Moral of Man.)

Man has an intellect and a morality, this is not found in animals. Throughout all races and cultures, there is a basic, high, standard of right and wrong.

Genesis 1:26-27 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Psalms 94:9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?

H. Argument of Life from Life.

1. Evolution is void, no one has ever seen one species, evolve into a higher species.

a. Causal Evolution: The Universe has always existed, and life matter has always been present.

b. Cosmic Evolution: Matter always existed and it developed into life by itself.

c. Theistic Evolution: God made the first things and then let the rest develop on its own.

d. Creation: God made it all, just as the scripture says.

2. If life comes from life like it, then original life must have come from a being possessing eternal life.

Psalms 36:9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

John 5:40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

1 John 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

I. Argument from Congruity.

God is the key to answer all the problems. The world has not found the answers anywhere else.

Matthew 26:11 For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

Luke 2:47 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.

1. The Bible must be accounted for.

2. Prophecy must be accounted for.

3. Miracles must be accounted for.

4. Historicity and Supernatural Character of Christ must be accounted for.

5. Influence of Christianity on the world must be accounted for.

6. The Conversion, which changes a man's life, must be accounted for.

J. Conclusion:

1. God does exist.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

1 John 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

2. No one can see God.

John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Exodus 33:20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.

3. If you have seen Jesus, you have seen the Father.

John 14:7-11 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

II. The Personality of God.

A. Introduction:

1. You must know the personality of God to know God.

2. Pantheism: The belief that God is not a personality, but that all of the laws, forces, and manifestations of the self existing universe is God.

a. This is the basis for Humanism.

B. God's Personality:

And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

III. The Trinity of God.

A. Introduction:

1. There is ONE God.

Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

2. God exists in three persons, this is called the Godhead.

Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

3. Statement of the Doctrine of the Trinity.

"We worship one God in trinity, and trinity in unity; neither confounding the persons nor dividing the substance." The Athanasian Creed.

4. Character of the Doctrine of the Trinity.

The Word Trinity does not appear in the Scriptures. The Trinity is a Biblical doctrine. This is true even though no one verse of Scripture contains the heart of the doctrine in whole. The doctrine is Biblical because the factual evidence upon which it is built is contained in the Bible. The doctrine is developed by the use of the comparing Scripture with Scripture and Rightly dividing the Word of God.

5. Origin of the Doctrine of the Trinity.

Human reason and wisdom are incapable of completely understanding this doctrine, though it is revealed from God through His Word, the Bible.

6. No complete and perfect illustration of the trinity exists in the Universe.

The Natural Illustrations are almost endless in the created world.

a. Man exists as three in one.

1). Body

2). Soul

3). Spirit

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

b. Light exists on three levels.

1). Invisible Red Heat Waves. (Felt)

2). Visible Yellow Light Rays. (Seen)

3). Blue Chemical Rays. (Seen by effect only)

c. Water exists in three states.

1). Frozen (Ice)

2). Liquid (Water)

3). Gaseous (Steam).

d. Egg.

1). Yoke

2). White

3). Shell

e. Time.

1). Past

2). Present

3). Future

f. World as we know it.

1). Land

2). Water

3). Atmosphere

7. I do not understand! That is natural:

Isaiah 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

B. Biblical Support

1. The Trinity is a Biblical Teaching.

1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

Matthew 3:13-17 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

2. The Trinity Acting in Creation.

a. Father

Genesis 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

b. Son

John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word as with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

c. Holy Spirit

Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

c. Holy Spirit.

Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

5. The Trinity Acting in Salvation.

a. Father, Son and Holy Spirit

Ephesians 1:6-14 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

b. Son

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

e. Father and Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

7. The Trinity Acting in Glory.

a. Father

1 Corinthians 15:38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.

b. Son

Philippians 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

D. Omnipresence. (All Present.)

1. Father

Jeremiah 23:23-24 Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off? Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.

2. Jesus Christ

Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

3. Holy Spirit

Psalms 139:7-10 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

E. Holiness. (Completely Without Sin.)

1. Father

Revelation 15:4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

2. Jesus Christ

F. Truthfulness.

1. Father

2. Jesus Christ

Revelation 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;

3. Holy Spirit

1 John 5:6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

3. Holy Spirit

2 Corinthians 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

V. Errors of the Trinity

A. Tri-theism.

The polytheistic concept that God is really three Gods. They are separate individuals just as Peter, James, and John are separate individuals. The Christian is accused of this by Jews, Mohammedians, and Unitarians.

B. Monarchianism.

The viewpoint that God is ultimately one, explaining away the Biblical evidence of the trinity.

1. Dynamic Monarchians.

a. Makes the Biblical revelation of the Father the only true God.

b. Denies the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, making him a mere man. The spiritual force of God came on Him at his baptism and left him on the cross. This is taught by many Church of Christ theologians.

c. Denies the personality of the Holy Spirit. He is made simply the forceful influence of God.

2. Patripassion Monarchians.

God is basically one person, who variously presents Himself in the role of the Father, the role of the Son, or the role of the Holy Spirit. This cannot explain places were the Son addresses the Father, or where the Son and Spirit are presented together.

VI. Conclusions of the Trinity

A. The Trinity is three eternally, inter-constituted, inter-related, inter-existent, and therefore inseparable Persons within One Being and of One Substance or essence.

B. The one indivisible divine essence, as a unity, exists eternally as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, so that each Person posses the whole essence, and yet is constituted a distinct person by certain incommunicable properties not possessed in common with the others.

C. God is NOT one and three, but one IN three.

D. We do NOT state that three beings are one being, or that three persons are one person; or that three intelligent beings are one intelligent being; but we DO state that in the same undivided essence are three different personal distinctions or personal substances.

E. The divine nature is distinguished from human nature in that divine nature can subsist wholly and indivisible in more than one person simultaneously.

F. One human person exists externally to another, and separate from him: but one Divine person exists in another, and inseparably from him. Thus one human person can exist apart from another; a Divine person cannot.

G. The Divine self-consciousness is not a fourth consciousness additional to the three separate consciousnesses but is the resultant of the three. The three consciousnesses are the one Divine self-consciousness, and the one Divine self-consciousness is the three separate consciousnesses.

H. Concluding Statement:

The Biblical Revelation of God is that God is a unity as far as essential nature is concerned and yet subsists as a Godhead of three Persons, co-equal and co-eternal, each of whom possesses the totality of the Divine essence simultaneously while existing as a separate personal manifestation.

VIII. The Fatherhood of God.

A. Introduction:

The World looks at this subject as The father-hood of God to all men, and the brotherhood of all men to each other.

B. OLD TESTAMENT

In the Old Testament, God is never listed as being the Father of an individual man.

1. Father in a Poetic Sense.

Psalms 68:5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

Psalms 103:13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.

2. Father in a Doctrinal Sense to Israel. (Not individual but as a whole nation.)

Exodus 4:22 And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:

3. Father of Angelic Beings.

Genesis 6:1-4 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

Job 2:1 Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.

Job 38:7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

C. NEW TESTAMENT

In the New Testament some men are accounted as sons and God the Father, but others are not listed that way.

1. Jesus said some men do not have God for their Father.

a. Some men have the Devil for a Father.

John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

b. Some men are the Children of Hell.

Matthew 23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

c. God's wrath, not his Fatherhood, abide on some men.

Romans 9:22 What if God, willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:

d. Some men are the Children of Disobedience. Some men are the Children of Wrath.

Ephesians 2:1-3 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins: Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

2. Saved men have God as their Father.

a. Saved men are given power to become sons.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

b. Saved men are adopted into God's Family.

Romans 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

c. Saved men are Separated from the World to God.

2 Corinthians 6:17-18 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

d. Saved men are Given Life in the Father.

1 John 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

3. Jesus is the Son of the Father.

John 17:1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:

John 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

John 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

John 17:24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

John 17:25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.

4. Jesus Said the Disciples should call God, Father.

Matthew 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

D. Conclusion:

1. Blood washed, New Testament Christians, Have God as Father.

2. The Nation of Israel has God as Father.

3. Angelic Beings have God as Father.

4. Jesus has God for His Father.

IX. The Silence of God.

Why is God Silent, when you need Him most?

Job 23:3 Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!

A. Is God indifferent? No, God cares!

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Isaiah 53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

B. Is God unobservant? No, God sees!

Proverbs 15:3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

C. Is God unloveing? No, God loves!

Hebrews 12:5-6 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

D. Is God unwilling to help? No, God is willing!

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Ezekiel 33:11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

E. God warned us First! Why should he answer now?

Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

F. God is Far above us, We cannot always understand His actions!

Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

Isaiah 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

G. Philosophic view of God's silence.

Being human involves free will. If we have freely acted we must be responsible for our actions, and pay the price for them.

H. God is not responsible to answer you until you have fulfilled His word.

Matthew 22:37-38 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.

I. God answers in His own time, not in our time!

Ecclesiastes 8:11 Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

J. We must go through trials to purify ourselves unto God. God doesn't answer because we must go through the fire to have this.

John 13:7 Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.

1 Peter 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

John 9:3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

K. God may allow this trial to Make Himself manifest to the World.

John 9:3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
