O Plano de Salvação.

Acts 14:31"And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saed, and thy house." Eph. 2:8 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:"

I. The question and answer. What was essential then is now, Paul knew the plan.

II. The question was definite, personal and reasonable.

III. The question implies, the Jailer:
 a. Realized he was lost. (Rom. 3:12) "They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one."
 b. Was convicted. (John 6:44)"No man can come to me, except the Father draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day." (John 12:32)"And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me."
 c. Was helpless. (Job 14:4)"Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one." (Jer. 2:22)"Though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord GOD" (Jer. 13:23)"Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are acustomed to do evil."
 d. Desired to know the plan.

IV. Things pointed out:
 a. Salvation a "certain" fact - "Thou shalt"

 c. The instument - Believe

V. Theories disputed
 a. Works - (Eph. 2:9)"Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Rom. 4:3)"For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness." (Gal. 2:16)"Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified."
 b. Mixture - (Rom. 11:6)"And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work." (Rom. 6:23)"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
